Recess Labs: Week 1
I never really fashioned myself as an “entrepreneur.” Truth be told, whenever I scrolled past online dating profiles that listed that word as a job, I would think to myself “unemployed” and swiped left. Although since launching this website less than six months ago, the label is beginning to fit me. My higher power certainly has a sense of humor.
And as I write this, my streaming radio station is playing the Batman theme song by The Piano Guys. I can’t imagine a more fitting soundtrack for what lies ahead.
My goals are to develop a growth plan, product roadmap, and profile my new friends.
I’ll be using this space to share my experience and thoughts while working out of Grand Central Tech’s accelerator space – where an additional 17 established businesses reside. Recess Labs itself was born out of the feelings of isolation that come with having a startup idea and the overlooked benefits of working alongside like-minded people on the same path.
They say it takes three months to walk the entire El Camino. In the same amount of time, I expect to live through similar ups and downs in this program sans foot blisters – but perhaps a touch of carpal tunnel. No pain, no gain! Stay tuned…
